18 years today!! He was described by his Nonnie as the calm child with darker hair before he was even born. To this day I've never had to raise my voice to this kid, who's now an adult.
He is a young man of many hidden talents. Some I've only seen glimmers of. Like the time he wrote one of the deepest poems I've ever read, at 15 (located in comments). Or the time he sang an Imagine Dragons song in a talent show in middle school. Or when he makes digital music or graphic art just for fun, like his older brother. What he can do with a computer or game console in general is just astounding.
His logic has been my sanity in times of motherly panic. Like the time earlier this year when his younger brother went "missing" from school pick up. It was him that kept me sane and helped me think rationally. His presence alone is often all I need to calm me.
I really can't say enough about this amazing young man. Except that I'm extremely proud of him and thankful everyday he is ours. I am excited to see what he does with his talents, logic, and composure. Whatever it is, we will all be better for it.
Happy birthday Ryker Embry! We love you!!
