This just makes me sick

Information On June 24th, 2012 NWA Roller Derby traveled to San Antonio, TX. While at the after party, all of their gear/skate bags were STOLEN out of their locked rental van. This is a huge heartbreak for us and especially those individuals. Thousands and thousands of dollars worth of gear as well as personalized items and memories. This hardship will affect our upcoming games and possibly the rest of our season. But we are fighting and plan to be skating again as soon as possible. Please help put our girls back into skates and safety gear with your contribution today. Thanks to all of our friends, family and fans for your never-ending support! Click here to donate

What a week...

Seemed never ending. It was VBS week. I worked every day plus Steven and I had to help with Bible School every night. Most nights we didn't get home until 9:30 as we ate dinner there after it was over. By Wednesday I knew I was going to need a break in the near future and penciled in a mental health day for Monday (tomorrow). I have a scheduled massage and I plan on sleeping in. Luckily Steven is here and will get up with the kids. This will be the first one all summer that I have had.

The move to Farmington to the group practice is going fast. The plans have been drawn up and building is beginning soon. Still suppose to start in August or September. Having meetings here and there and trying to find all my office stuff. Got lucky this week and got some shelves, dollhouse, and more toys from one of my friends who is moving soon to Memphis. She was Ryker's daycare teacher for several years. The fiscal year for my contract job ends this month so I am finishing up all the stuff for that and looking forward to July 1st, which is the start of the new contract. But that also means about 6-8 more clients each week then what I am accustomed to. That's a lot! Not sure how much longer I can keep the school based job with the other 2 increasing in the amount of time I am having to put in. Something is eventually going to have to give and it's the one I don't have plans on continuing for years. Granted it was a blessing last year when pregnant and we lost one of our big contracts and I was just starting the private practice. This time last year I was barely working at all. I guess considering how hot it was and the fact I was pregnant I think God was just giving me the break I needed before all this other stuff started happening. I am trying not to take it for granted as I know that I am truly blessed.

Kids are enjoying their summer. They all loved VBS. I am looking for another close to our house for this week. Gage has a swimming party today and the others are chilling. Heston is teething bad and has been running a fever off and on all week. Luckily aside from some fussiness he is able to eat and play. Those first teeth just want to take their sweet time like all the other kiddos did. They are right under the skin and ready to pop through anytime. He is crawling now. Some weird inch worm / bear crawl. But he gets to where he wants. All in all things are good, just busy as usual...well maybe somewhat busier for me.

Awesome!

Can I just say that I love my phone. Not the talking aspect of it (could do without that actually), but the things it can do. I am having to do some work from home and needed to scan and email something and my copier in my room is super loud and happens to have a sleeping baby right next to it. Then I remembered my phone has a scanner app. It worked better than by big copier and it's quiet. Granted probably not the best for multiple pages, but great for one or two. And Heston is still asleep! VICTORY!

Why I am elated!

My high continues from yesterday. Almost feels like I have been drinking coffee all day, to which I am not. Why is this so exciting to me? Then I think about the time spent to get here.

4 years of undergrad in Counseling.
3 years of Graduate school for a dual emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy and Community Counseling.
4 years of supervision while practicing. (I see this as the equivalent to a Doctor resident) That's 4 years of 6 month evaluations, reporting hours, and clocking an astounding 3000 hours in counseling.

All in all this is 11 years of school and supervision. Some physician programs take less time! And I am about to add another year of post grad work for my Play Therapy certification. I also completely forgot about my LADAC (Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor) application, which has been ready since last year. I just need another huge check to send in with it. Ahhh, my head is still spinning.

On a similar side note, contract referrals are picking up! My other huge project with my joining my private practice into a small group one is moving along, at an almost super fast pace. The office is soon to start being built to suit our needs. I need to start getting my stuff asap! I am in the process of getting paneled for all the insurances I plan to take. It's a lot of stuff and at times I feel overwhelmed, but then I just remind myself to take it all one step at a time.
