Almost 2 weeks!

Since I have felt normal...

May 15th was our bout against Dallas. We got beat pretty good, but I cannot put into words how I felt the next day. Since then though my immunity has been shot. It started with a sore throat on Saturday the 22nd. Thought it was a cold or allergies. Monday I felt absolutely horrible. At work I was barely making it, fever on and off. Tuesday I finally called in... gasp! I know I hardly ever do that. I hate calling in because most of my stuff doesn't get covered when I am gone. Anyways, I woke up with my throat throbbing and hardly able to talk. Not even able to make the most of my morning by sleeping in, I decided to get up and call the Doctor. Went in, sure enough, it's strep! Yay. Start antibiotics, have to call in again on Wednesday due to still being contagious. Fever finally went away for good but the sore throat is not getting any better. One side of it seems to be inhabited by hidden cave dwellers who are digging for something. Their new residence seems to be nice for them, but not good for me. I have been gargling salt water like crazy, to no avail. So I went ahead and decided against traveling to my last bout of the year in Texas next Saturday. Even had the day asked off and everything, but realized I would have been no good since I can't even make it to practice, plus I still feel like crud ran over twice. Not sure what is going on, since I don't really get sick that much, and when I do it is pretty small stuff. I honestly haven't been this sick since I was pregnant with Kieran and had bronchitis for 3 MONTHS!!

So just as soon as this stuff is over and done with I plan on a super health plan to boost my immunity. I am taking a break from derby for awhile. I can't help but think my immunity has been compromised from the continuous bashing my body has been through. It needs a rest. That is hard for me to say. Good news is I have a gift coming in the mail. I ordered the Zumba Dance workout set and hope to get it soon. I am going to see if my love for dance actually gives me all the exercise I need for awhile. Should be a fun experiment anyways.
