St. Jude's Run

My running has taken such a hit this year. I just haven't had it in me. But we still managed to make it to the St. Jude's Run. I brought along Gage and Kieran. Gage and I ran the 10k and Kieran ran the 5k. they both placed! I did not!

BTW yes I had a birthday on the 23rd and I did nothing. It was nice!

Ridlee updates

She's been watching muppet babies lately. Can you tell who she made here?

Actually a better representation of Gonzo than I can do.

And some recent bingo announcing she's been doing with her new letters.

Ridlee's sick

Oye...This month, enough already. Nothing worse than your littles being sick. I especially hate the stomach bug. Dry heaves are the worst. Ridlee has had it since yesterday evening. It's still going this morning. I'm tired. I just need this month to back off please. Any time now.

This is the most miserable I've ever seen her. After the dry heaving stopped it seem to be transitioning that she could keep water down but then the cramping was severe for over an hour. She was crying "I can't and please stop" over and over. I finally was able to give her some Tylenol and she passed out. I hate seeing her sick.

Finally feeling better and able to eat some pizza.

Happy 19 years

Today has been crazy busy, I admit I forgot what day it was for awhile. Not that I am surprised. August is way too busy (if I could go back it would have been done in July). Today we celebrate 19 years of marriage, yes 19! We were both 18 (although I was a week away from 19). So we have crossed the over half our lives, married mark. I look through all my wedding album photos and get sad at those who have passed over the years. I miss all of them.
As far as the marriage goes, I find that things get easier the longer it goes. Not life in general (yeah right), but the marriage itself. And the love has grown. It's crazy to think all that has come in those 19 years... 5 kids, multiple moves/degrees, chaos everyday, etc. Thankful doesn't begin to describe how I feel.

Rogers Mental Health Fair

Trying to actually attend some actual marketing events this year and yes they usually occur in August. This was a first for Rogers Public Schools. Brought along Gage as a helper.

Rolling along!

Remember what I said about August? This year is worse. Add in car breaking down again, disorganized school schedules for kids needing redone by parents, preparing/organizing therapies for Ridlee, and a dozen other things.... is it fall yet? Also advice to businesses/organizations... It helps parents out so much not to schedule open houses/meetings in August. I've had 9 invites. Not all have I been able to attend because of conflicts. And normally I would. I hate August.

Ridlee is showing us more and more everyday her talents. The brain is a fascinating thing. She can't answer "why or how" questions, but she can read and spell.

Hello August... Ridlee progress

August is always a busy month in out household. It's my birthday, Anniversary, and all the kiddos and Steven's first days back to school. I honestly dread its business but end up making it through despite my dread.
Ridlee has been making a lot of progress with her manipulatives like play-doh. We weren't aware she was able to make her letters until this.

Apparently she made this off of her memory. Word learned from watching YouTube videos. Gage took this with his phone. It's hard to know what all she knows because of her pragmatic issues. I know she is reading things but I don't know to what extent. She already memorized some multiplications too. I am thankful for manipulatives like Play-Doh that can show us just some of what's in that head of hers.
