XC and races catch up!

I am so far behind in everything XC. I can't keep up, no pun intended.

I'll start with the Siloam Panthers invitational on the 17th. Gage ran in it, but Kieran did not. It was a long, hard, course with lots of hills.

The week after we had the Berryville race. It was very hot and hilly. Both raced in it.

I had the 5k reflection run on the 18th and PRd and got 1st in my division, despite it being hot and in the evening. Time was 27:19. It had, by far, the best goodie bag I have gotten to date.

The annual Chili Pepper is the kiddos next race. We don't anticipate placing as it's a huge invitational. But it is great experience for them. I run in the Purple for Purpose 5k the next day to benefit the Junior League of NWA and to fight domestic violence. My first half marathon of the fall season is the following Sunday on the 9th. The hero half!

Happy 16th birthday Gage!

I have a 16 year old! How is that possible!?! I have been saying that in my head all day and it still feels surreal. 16 years ago today I became a mom! His birthday is always bittersweet because he had a twin at one time. But I feel truly blessed that I have him. He is quirky, smart, talented, fast, and level headed (most of the time). He doesn't seem in a rush to get his license, hoards his money, saves coins, draws awesomely, and runs faster than I ever thought he would. He's very blind without his glasses/contacts. Blades of grass were not a thing until he got them. He isn't much of an animal person and fights with the two older siblings. But he is very sweet to his littles, Heston and Ridlee. I can go on, but it's hard to fit 16 years of personality in one post. Happy birthday Gage! We love you. Don't forget to do the dishes.

Happy 10th birthday Ryker!

10 years already! Somehow I blinked and missed some. This boy has been a joy everyday. Probably looks the most like me. Very curious and smart. Loves to read! My biggest baby at a whopping 7 lbs. 3 oz. Happy birthday Ryker! We love you!

XC start 2016 and etc.

Both Gage and Kieran ran their first official meet of the season today. This was Kieran's first ever and Gage's first in Senior High Division. Gage ran his 5k at 18:37 and got 9th place. Kieran ran her 2 mile in 13:40 and got 8th in her division. They both did very well and we had a great start to the season. Gage, Steven, and I are all battling a cold. Luckily Gage is on the end of his. Mine feels terrible and this morning being in the rain didn't help. Sadly unlike him, I can't run that much when I feel like this.

I noticed that I never posted on my birthday. I did officially turn 36 a couple of weeks ago. Didn't do anything major, just dinner and relaxing.

I also forgot to update on Labor Day when Gage, Kieran, and I ran the Run for a Child. They ran the 5k. Gage got 2nd in his division and Kieran got 3rd in her's. I ran the 10k and got 3.5 minutes off my time from the week priors 10k with a 56:09 and got 4th place in my division. The week prior I ran the St. Jude's Fayetteville 10k with a hurt back and still it was PR up until this last race. It was highly unexpected. Time for that was 59:33 and I even got 2nd place.

It's been an eventful past few weeks.
