Birthday(s) week!

In a weeks time we have celebrated 2 boys birthdays, exactly a week a part. Funny enough Rykers was in summer and Gages is in Fall. Ryker turned 6 and Gage 12. We are having this big party in October and adding Hestons to it. It will be in Oklahoma so the rest of the family can come. Hard to believe I have been a mother for 12 years now. More if you consider the actual pregnancy, which I do. J

Goodbye Heather

I lost a good friend this week. And to all things a heart attack at 29. No, she didnt do drugs or anything like that. She worked extremely hard at everything she ever did. We went to JBU (grad school) together. After graduation she and I had monthly dinner dates, switching places each month. One month she would chose, the next I would. We had quite the mix of places on our list. Many of which I only ate at one time with her. Now all those places are even more special in my heart and I will think of her each time I pass one. Unfortunately when she switched jobs to an even more demanding job our dates went on hiatus. We kept keeping a rain check for it, but they never happened. I hate that. We never realize that sometimes you cant cash in those rain checks.

I will miss you terribly Heather. L

Taking the plunge...

We have decided to take the plunge of purchasing a home. Yes, we have been married over 13 years and have rented the whole time. The first half was mostly because we had no idea where we were going to end up. Now that we have planted some pretty deep roots in NWA we decided now is a good time. I admit that the idea has also been rather daunting to me because I hear its quite the process. I also hate moving. I told myself when we moved into this place over 4 years ago that if I moved again it would be because we bought a house. Well I am tired of not having freedom to do with the house what I want. A month or so ago we had issues with the stove and it was pulling teeth trying to come to an agreement with the leasing agency about replacing it. Basically it came down to me threatening the BBB and Rental Protection Agency if they didnt quit trying to screw us over. They were trying to charge us $75 for putting in a part that Steven could have done in 5 minutes.  Sadly when I threatened with the above they all the sudden offered a brand new stove if we would just cover half of it. Yeah, I realized then I want a house of my own.
So our lease is up in about 8 months and yes, I am looking already and have a realtor that came highly recommended. I am going crazy watching HGTV and trying to decide if we want a fixer upper or move in ready. This process should be interesting.
Ill keep ya posted!

First of the season

Football season is starting for some today. Not me. Not into the college ball thing. But I did take the time to go get my very first Pumpkin Spice Latte from Arsega's today! I love Fall! I am already getting in that 'total comfort of it all' mood that comes from this time of year. I am also already looking at fall clothes and wanting to update my wardrobe a tad. With August being done and over with... finally, September still has its many items to do on my ever increasing checklist. Gage and Ryker's birthday's are this month, each exactly one week apart. My play therapy classes start up. I am actually excited about that. Been awhile since I have been in class and I admit I have been missing it. I could easily be a professional student if it paid the bills. Work is going very well. I am in that lovely groove where I love what I do and I am glad that I went the route I went in school. It's actually interesting that I am able to do some Christian Counseling. Ironically about 95% of my clientele through DHS are Christians.
