My first attempt at sewing a dress

Wal-Mart is selling this fabric that already has the cinching done for a summer dress. All you have to do is sew it together and the bottom. It is my first attempt. I was too lazy to measure anything, so it is all done by eye. And I had no brown thread so the white sorta sticks out at the bottom of the dress, but oh well. Not bad for $12. Plus it is comfy. I am wearing it right now. It does make my waist look big and would be perfect for a maternity dress, but it will do for me on lazy days.

I'm here

Well, another semester of school is done with, which brings me that much closer to graduation.  This semester has flown by faster than any others by far. I am enjoying my internships so far.  I am still doing a few hours at the CARE clinic, but the majority of my hours are coming from Vista.  It's interesting working on Saturdays too.  I can come in when I like plus I am the only therapist there, so I feel like I have the run of the place.  I have doubled my hours in only 4 weeks.  Of course I am exhausted but most of that is from being sick and still having to push through everything. I was diagnosed with Bronchitis, Sinustitis, and laryngitis.  Having to take a super butt load of antibiotics too.  Ryker was also sick along with me and is on antibiotics as well.  As usual I am in desperate need of sleep.

Last Saturday was the Race for the Cure.  Had a blast with the ladies from my church.  It was a beautiful day and everything went off without a hitch. There were 15,000 people there this year.

Ryker is officially everywhere and into everything right now. Which means less time doing anything in the house but chase him around and keep him from hurting himself.  He is crawling, climbing, and almost cruising.  I put some cute pics at the end of the slideshow of his adventures.

Other than that I am just sitting here enjoying the thunderstorm.  Maybe that will help me fall asleep easy tonight, although lately I haven't had much of a problem, thanks to my schedule.

Crap update

I have been sick since last Wednesday with a sore throat, fever, and today coughing and wheezing. Ryker has it too and we took him to the Dr. Monday, he was put on antibiotics for his raw throat and URI, but luckily no ear infection. This is his first Real sickness and dose of meds. His healthy 6 month check up was Tuesday, which we kept. He will be 7 months tomorrow, nice 6 months huh? He is exactly 18 pounds and 26 1/3 inches long. Right on 50%, same as last time. He is on par or above where he should be. I have no insurance anymore, hard to get any unless I have a job that provides it seeing how I am diagnosed epileptic. Only one in my house without any...yay. I try the Wal-Mart walk in clinic yesterday which had an hour wait. I didn't have time so I turned it down, only to wake up suffering this morning and had to go to my internship. I pushed through everything and finally made myself go back to the Dr. luckily no wait. Diagnosed with bronchitis, laryngitis, and sinistitus (sp?). So on a huge dose of antibiotics.

Didn't make it to rollerderby practice, which would have been my night to take the MST test to see if I could be on the league. Guess have to wait longer now. Got home, Steven said his Dad was coming up to "talk" to him. So out of character for him, remember they live in Oklahoma, 2.5 hours away. Steven tried to tell him he didn't have to, but he insisted. Well I asked Steven to turn his music off or down, because he was listening to his normal yelling crap that literally makes me anxious. This is how I ask, "Steven. Could you please turn that off or down?" In a very nice and normal tone. He rolls his eyes and gives me crap...makes me cry because I am an anxious mess. He is still being a jerk, been a lot lately, makes me want to beat his ass!!! So Ryker and I left just as his dad was pulling up. We said our hi's and drove off, came back almost 2 hours later. We went and took a nap behind the Wal-Mart parking lot. Pathetic huh?

Came back, found out he was in Muskogee anyways and that is why he decided to come by instead of calling. He actually apologized for not warning us when we came down when MIL wigged out on us. Apparently she has been like this for awhile and he knew it. She wanted to see the kids so he said nothing, and when he noticed the noise was bothering her he said he should have told us but he didn't. Steven told him, he didn't need to apologize, that he did nothing wrong. FIL said MIL hasn't called because she didn't think steven would talk to her and was angry with her. Well he is angry but he would still talk to her. I on the other hand am not ready. I understand that she is depressed, I understand her hormones are whacked from the hysterectomy, and she is taking meds, however, I do not understand if she is like this why isn't she seeing a therapist. She is just going to a medical dr. who cannot help her with the coping part. I am sorry but that bothers me. I shouldn't have to worry about her wigging just because she is imbalanced.

She has her head up her butt

Mother nature that is. Freaking April and freezing. Yesterday it even snowed! WTF!! And it is supposed to get to 17 degrees tonight. And soccer for in the morning is still not cancelled. Well, we won't go in the cold, no fun there. Plus last time Gage played in the freaking cold we ended up leaving early because he almost got hypothermia. Uh, duh, time to cancel when the kids snot freezes! I guess you can sense my extreme sarcasm. I am having one of those days where the very simplest words are not coming to me. Took 5 minutes to think of the word sarcasm. I am not kidding. Days like this make me reconsider getting another EEG done. But then whats the point, even if something shows up I am not getting on meds again.

I am so glad this week is over, it was exhausting. Of course now the end of the semester is right around the corner and with that comes assignments due and working my butt off trying to get them done, at the same time meeting with professors for practicum and squeezing meetings in with my lawyer lady for the non-profit, starting yet another internship. I also just started graphic designing for a sight that takes donations. I figured I am going to make them anyway might as well do it for one of those. I don't see that as an abligation though, it's a hobby that I enjoy in my downtime, which is usually late at night. Takes my mind off the other crap.

I officially bought my rollerderby skates today. Hopefully will be picking them up from Dimah in a day or two. Got my pads, helmet, and mouth guards, so I am pretty much set to get my butt kicked. I need it though, anything to let out the aggression I build up, lol. I can imagine people reading this thinking 1 of 2 things. 1. I can't imagine sweet ol' Jessica playing derby. 2. Yep, I can see her doing that. The ones thinking the 2nd know me longer and better than those who think the first. I may be small and sweet, but I pack some meaness, which I get from my Daddy. I am hoping to "try out" for a team this month. That is if I don't miss anymore practices.
