Happy Thanksgiving

We had a really nice, somewhat quiet Thanksgiving here at the house with just the kids and us. I say somewhat quiet as with these kids it is never trully quiet. The kids of course had their chicken nuggets and homemade pizza for their dinner while Steven and I had our version of dinner. The best was the awesome Pumpkin cheesecake, which we all agreed on. I think there is one slice left and it will be gone by morning. Gosh, it was good, they better have them for Christmas as well. Since today was VERY nice outside we took the kids to go play in the leaves, of course they had a blast doing that. I even took a small nap, late in the evening. Now the Broncos are playing...of course they are losing, which is to be expected as they are playing in Kansas City. Who knows maybe a Thanksgiving miracle will happen and they will break that curse. Well it wouldn't be Thanksgiving without my list of things I am Thankful for. Of course I can never remember everything, but let's hope I get the majority....

I am Thankful for...

My God, which is the reason I have everything else in the first place.
My husband and my children, not a day goes by that I don't feel trully blessed to have them.
My family as well as my husbands family, we both have great parents and could not ask for better.
My church family. It has been our church home for a little more than a year and they have been trully awesome.
My friends, both new and old.
Our home, may not be "ours" as we rent, but it is where our heart is and it is a large roof over our heads, which keeps us warm.
The opportunity to further our education, and the schools that we go to. I am also Thankful to find a place nearbye that had my choice of program of study.
My health and the health of my family.
My abilities and talents, too many to list....ok, I am totally kidding, but the few I do have I am very Thankful for.
All the blessings God has given us and allowed us to have, from the books I read to the food I eat, let no stone be unturned.
And of course everyday I wake up, I am so trully Thankful for this life I have and which God has given me. I could not imagine a better one if I tried.

Worst night and day yet...

Last night started out bad. Ryker would fight me nursing, so I would have to give him to Steven to calm down. After he went to bed, Ryker didn't fall asleep until after 2 a.m. Even after that he slept horribly, tosseling all night long. I slept none! Finally aroung 6 a.m. I went and got Steven to give him a bottle. I got to sleep for about 45 minutes before Steven had to get up for school and take the kids to theirs. For the next 6 hours, Ryker alternated between fighting me while nursing until I couldn't take it, then I would put him in his swing, where he would cry for 20 minutes then fall asleep for 20 minutes, then wake up screaming, where I would take him to nurse, where he would fight me and it would start all over again. I may have got 2 hours sleep total. This is worse than when he was first born. Even as I type this he is crying in his swing, nothing is appeasing him. Steven said he would take him tonight, although, I am not sure how long that will last with him acting this way. I keep hoping he will be a calm child, but the way things are going I highly doubt it.

Big weekend

I am beat! Friday was the Fall festival at Gage's school. I volunteered for his class's game for about an hour. That was my easiest hour. 3 kids are hard to handle at a function such as that. Luckily Ryker slept most of the time in his sling. Gage and Kieran had fun getting their faces painted, playing the games, and of course eating all the candy and pizza. By the end of the night though I was so tired. Today we had a chili cookoff at the church. Steven made Buffalo chili and my dad's corncake recipe (cornbread with sugar, lol). Gage and Kieran had fun playing in the nursery and outside while Ryker slept on me and Steven played flag football. I purposely wore my sandles so I would not be tempted to play myself. Although I noticed no other girls played, what is up with that?
Seems I am going a little camera happy with my new camera. I have yet to make a video but knowing me, there will be one shortly. Enjoy the pics from this weekend.

It's official...

I will be starting my practicum/internship in the Spring. Registered for classes this morning. I am excited and nervous at the same time. Still have to find an official site to do it at. I guess I will just go down my list and see which takes me first. I have no idea how I will do with clients, I have no idea what my style is, what if I get in there and completely freeze? Ok, I don't really think that will happen as the best I ever felt when working at DHS was when I actually felt I was doing therapy. Nevertheless, I am still nervous. But hey, what's new? I am used to some anxiety.

On another note, I went and voted early today, exercising my right as a United States Citizen, and then went and got a flu shot. I am exhausted and need sleep, however Ryker has been going to sleep at 1 the past few nights so sleep is not in sight.

New camera

We finally got one, it seems to be a pretty nice one too. We got a Canon Powershot A540. Does all kinds of things. Finally got to get the Halloween picks off of the other card so they are now up. We tried to go get some Family pics taken last night. Well we did get a nice one of the whole family but when we tried to get one with all the kids, Kieran would not cooperate. She was being a royal toot. So that pic ended up being just Gage and Ryker. Made me very upset. So I will have to dress them back up and see if I can take one myself with my new camera. If it is good enough I will have some Christmas cards made from it. We have about half of our Christmas shopping done. My goal is to have it all done before Thanksgiving, so I can relax for Kieran's birthday and such. Plus I refuse to shop in the huge crowds.

Ryker is growing like a weed. I am guessing he is close to 11 pounds now. Won't really know for sure his exact weight until his 2 month appt. the 4th of December.

Our Halloween..

It was fun, just cold. We went to the square after Gage got out of school and did our trick or treating there. I much prefer to do that during the day. Ryker was all cozy in my sling, asleep. Kieran and Gage had fun. She was a Zebra and he was a Ninja. Then that night we went to the Fall Festival at our church, and wouldn't you know as soon as we get there I drop my camera and it won't work no more. Pisses me off. Now we have to get a new one. The Fall Festival was fun, luckily they had it on the inside, with a jumper and everything, The kids got way to much candy! Of course they were all hopped up on it, but they went to bed at the same time without any problem. Sugar gives a rush but doesn't last long. Hopefully I will get my new camera soon and I can at least post the pics from the trick or treating.
