The good, the bad, and the ugly!

Been a rollercoaster the past couple of weeks. Last weekend we had our first intraleague bout of the season and it went great. I believe we sold out, which is awesome because it was on a Sunday. Both bouts were very close. Ours came down to the last jam and our jammer got sent to the penalty box allowing them to catch and surpass us for the win. Everyone played awesome though. I got my first MVP ever which was exciting. The following Tuesday I was voted as Co-Captain of the All Star team. This is the first time I have agreed to be nominated and hope I can be a good one. Looks like we are going to have a great season.

The week was continuing to go well until early Friday morning, I had to get up in the middle of the night and take an Ibuprofen. I woke up at 6 writhing in pain in my stomach. Felt like someone took a hot poker and stabbed me in the stomach. It was so bad it kept making me throw up. It would ease for a minute and then start right back up. The 3rd time I threw up is when I noticed the blood. I was still hurting too bad to freak. I was actually begging for death at this point. The pain was worse than childbirth. And I have had one without any pain meds. It finally eased enough that I fell asleep and when I woke up I got all dressed and went to 2 clinics only to be told they couldn't see me that I needed to go to the ER. I called 3 others that told me the same. So much for Urgent Care. So Steven took off work early and drove me to Talequah to the Indian Hospital. This was the first time I have ever went there and didn't have to wait very long. I was in and out in 1.5 hours. Steven even took the kids to the local park and they had a good ol' time. The Doctor was awesome and even told me he wishes I worked there. Made me feel good. Basically they told me I either have severe GERD or a bleeding ulcer. I have had my gallbladder out in 2001 so that was the only other option. They gave me some lanacane and maalox concoction that numbed me pretty good. First time I could eat something decent was after that. I also have to take Prilosec everyday. They told me that if the pain happens again that bad to come back and I would have to be scoped. But the big thing is what caused it. The ibuprofen set it all off. Now I can't ever take any other NSAID's again. Not that I would risk that pain again. But it is definitely going to cause it if I take it again. So Tylenol it is. I had to change my diet a bit, however I was still scared to eat much for a few days a got really weak. I started eating a little more yesterday and I feel some nudges of pain but they are not terrible.

Today I am forced in due to the storm of the century. Crazy stuff I tell ya. Everything is closed and will be again tomorrow. So ready for spring already.
